Linking Google & email sign-in

Use either Google or email/password to reach the same account — helpful when Google sign-in is blocked on a corporate or public computer.

How linking works here
The short version.
  • One canonical account per verified email address.
  • When you sign in with an email that already exists on another account, we automatically merge them and keep the older one as your canonical account.
  • You can also link Google to an existing email account from Profile → Connected accounts.
Scenario A — Add Google to an email/password account
You already sign in with email and password.
  1. Sign in with your email and password.
  2. Open Profile and scroll to Connected accounts.
  3. Click Link Google account and complete Google sign-in in the popup.
  4. You'll be signed out and asked to sign in again — that's expected. After that, either method works.
Scenario B — Add email/password to a Google-only account
Best for computers where Google sign-in is disabled.

The simplest way is to set a password on your existing Google account using the password reset flow. This attaches a password to the same account — no merging required.

  1. Open Forgot password (also linked from the sign-in page).
  2. Enter the exact email address your Google account uses.
  3. Open the reset link from your inbox and set a password.
  4. On the restricted computer, sign in with that email + password. On other devices you can keep using Google — it's the same account.

If reset says "user not found"

Sign in with Google once first so your profile is provisioned, then retry the password reset with the same email.

Scenario C — I accidentally made two accounts
Same email, two sign-in methods, separate data.
  • Sign in with the newer account. If both accounts share a verified email, we auto-merge into the older canonical account and ask you to sign in again.
  • If nothing happens (usually when there are 3+ duplicates), contact the site owner — an admin tool can merge them manually.
FAQ

Why do I have to sign in again after linking?

The session you had belonged to the account we just merged away. Signing in again puts you on the canonical account.

Will I lose any data?

No. Jobs, documents, tasks, AI runs, appointment requests, and other user-owned data move to the canonical account during the merge.

Can I unlink Google later?

Yes — from Profile → Connected accounts, as long as you have another way to sign in (email + password).
